Bird Bird Biscuit

I’ve been hearing about Bird Bird Biscuit for years, they’re nationally recognized and won Best Breakfast Sandwich in 2024 which definitely caught my attention.

I’ve driven past their Manor location more times than I can count, and finally, I gave in to the temptation.

While they close at 2 p.m. Monday through Wednesday, they’re open late until 9 p.m. Thursday through Saturday, and 3 p.m. on Sundays. Honestly, it’s the perfect excuse for a day date.

Parking is pretty easy with a few spots right in front and some extra spaces on the street, a big plus in Austin.

Looking at the menu, I’ll admit I was hesitant about the $11 price tag for a chicken sandwich.

Austin has burned me one too many times with overpriced “sandwiches,” but I decided to set my doubts aside and ordered the Queen Beak.

They’ve got two locations now:

Even with two locations, they stay busy.

10 - 30 min wait

There’s a sign warning that orders can take 10–30 minutes, but I ordered from the kiosk early on a Sunday morning and didn’t wait long.

Watching so many people hop out of their cars just to grab their orders and dash off tells you how loved this spot is.

The seating is outdoor only now, but with the great weather we had this weekend, I didn’t mind one bit.

When I finally opened the bag, all my doubts about the price vanished.

Queen Beak

This sandwich was massive, the chicken to biscuit ratio was perfect, with a huge, juicy piece of fried chicken held together by a sturdy, buttery biscuit.

I struggled to finish it, but I haven’t stopped thinking about it since.

While it’s definitely not the fanciest date spot, it’s absolutely somewhere I’d return to for a laid back morning with my spouse.

My only regret? Not trying the Dough Doughs. But no worries I’ll be back for round two soon.

Palm Pizza is currently taking Super Bowl 2025 pre orders and one of them is a full pan of Lasagna Bolognese.

It’s hefty at $52 but if it feeds 6 - 8 people I don’t see how the math isn’t mathin.
